Resumen:
A heterobicyclic lactone obtained by stereoselective Baeyer?Villiger biooxidation with recombinant whole-cells expressing cyclopentanone monooxygenase from Comamonas was used for formal total syntheses of various natural products containing a tetrahydrofuran structural motif.
