Interaction of the supernova remnant G20.0-0.2 with a molecular cloud

The supernova remnant G20.0-0.2 shows in the radio band a polarized filled center with a flat spectral index. Based on these characteristics, it was classified as a Crab-like remnant. At 20 cm, it displays a flat border and a radio filament, which point to a probable interaction between the shock front and the interstellar medium. In this work, we study the environment of G20.0-0.2 to investigate the influence of the surrounding medium in the observed morphology. We find a molecular cloud toward the flat border very likely related to the supernova remnant. From this relation, we suggest that the remnant is located at a distance of 4.5 kpc.
