Resumen:
The objective of the present work was to detect the presence of marine filamentous
fungi (ascomycetes and hyphomycetes) in King George Island (South Shetland Islands). For
this purpose wood panels contained inside plastic nets were exposed to coastal marine waters
for its colonization by fungi from marine origin. As a result of our survey, we were able to
identify two marine fungi, Ceriosporopsis tubulifera and Papulospora halima which constitute
first reports for the Antarctica.Ceriosporopsis tubulifera and Papulospora halima which constitute
