Resumen:
The objective of the present work was to detect the presence of marine filamentous fungi (ascomycetes and hyphomycetes) in King George Island (South Shetland Islands). For this purpose wood panels contained inside plastic nets were exposed to coastal marine waters for its colonization by fungi from marine origin. As a result of our survey, we were able to identify two marine fungi, Ceriosporopsis tubulifera and Papulospora halima which constitute first reports for the Antarctica.Ceriosporopsis tubulifera and Papulospora halima which constitute first reports for the Antarctica.
