Since the recognition that women in science undergo unequal treatment during the development of their careers, gender committees have been established inside scientific societies, with the aim of promoting actions ensuring gender perspective in science activities. In this work we present the main activities done by the recently instituted Gender Committee of the Argentine Physical Society to improve the current situation in terms of gender in physics in Argentina.
