PS I enriched vesicles prepared by digitonintreatment of spinach chloroplasts have beencritically studied in terms of their content ofcytochrome b. In contrast with previous results(Peters et nj.,BBA 722:460-470,1983), cytochromeb6 showed both a spectral and thermodynamicheterogeneity (b-564, E,7--170+10mV and b-563,7--50+10 mV) and on ahe other hand we foundtEAt the cytochrome described as b-559 (Em -32mV) has actually its alpha peak at 560 nm aftd anEm 7-50+10 mV.
