Resumen:
Metallic structures are generally protected by anti-corrosion coatings, but biofilm over these coatings can lead to blistering and adhesion loss, causing failure of the protective system. Therefore, the metallic protection of substrates requires a more comprehensive view as regards to the use of special coatings to prevent their fungal-influenced corrosion, taking into account the fungal susceptibility of the protective systems in order to prevent future failures that lead to efficiency loss. This work deals with the assessment of fungal deterioration on different anti-corrosive coatingsusing electrochemical techniques (corrosion potential and ionic resistance) and scanning electron microscopy. The fungal used were isolated form biodeteriorated paints and identified by micro and macro morphological observations.
