Resumen:
An application that uses ZigBee modules to transmit signals of ECG, intraventricular pressure (PI) and intraventricular volume (VI) from a conductance catheter system (CCS), which incorporates a pressure transducer and a device for measuring ECG, is presented. Wireless interface is developed using transmit-receive modules that implement ZigBee wireless communications protocols. These modules are included in an evaluation kit, XBee ZB (ZigBee-PRO). One of the modules is connected to a PC via a serial interface using an emulated USB port. This module is configured as a coordinator and receives signals from the remote module. The last, named "End Device", collects PI, VI and ECG signals from the digital CCS and sends them to the receiver module. A LabView graphical user interface is implemented to decode received information and to graphic temporarily the biological signals previously processed by Dynamic reconfigurable FPGA device FLEX10k70RC240. ZigBee technology ensures robust communication between modules with very low power consumption, a feature that makes it suitable for portable systems.
