Resumen:
The present study reports the catalytic activity and stability of Mn?Cecatalyst with low Mn content in the soot combustion reaction. Through X-raydiffraction analysis (XRD), Laser Raman Spectroscopy (LRS), andTemperature-Programmed Reduction studies (CO-TPR), it is inferred that theMn/(Mn + Ce) ratio = 0.1 allows the formation of a solid solution between Mnand Ce oxides with high catalytic performance. This formulation was structuredover ceramic papers to conform catalytic ceramic papers. These structuredfibrous catalysts presented high catalytic stability after several cycles ofthe soot combustion reaction and they prove to be highly active in the reactionof interest. Their catalytic performance under different oxidation conditionswas also evaluated by varying the NO and O2 proportion in the gas feed. The NO content in the gas feed considerably influencedthe catalytic performance and the reaction order with respect to this oxidant was ca. 0.3. The activation energy was found to be 14 kcal/mol.
