Resumen:
The airways begin in the lips or nose and extend to the alveoli of the lung. In addition to fulfilling the vital function of transporting the air we breathe, they are considered excellent alternatives for the non-invasive administration of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). However, their anatomy and physiology can be an obstacle to the safe and effective delivery of drugs . For this reason, inhaled medicines are designed as complex systems, constituted by the formulation and the administration device, thus allowing API to reach different areas of the respiratory system.
