Resumen:
Hydrogels constitute a particular category of soft matter with intriguing properties that lead to very interesting applications. The basic constituent of a hydrogel is in most of the cases long hydrophilic or amphiphilic macromolecules capable to form a three dimensional infinite network by chemical or physical intramolecular bonding. In the second case the macromolecules self-assemble through non-covalent, secondary molecular interactions like for instance hydrophobic, electrostatic, H-bonding. The latter class of hydrogels is named physical hydrogels or self-assembling hydrogels.
