Resumen:
A sustainable strategy was developed to create chemicaldiversity from bioactive scaffolds. The methodology comprisesa set of simple reactions between the parent compound (i. e.withaferin A), and small sulfur nucleophiles in hydroalcoholicmedia, at room temperature and in open-air atmosphere. Novelsteroidal sulfur natural product-analogs were obtained, featuringring opening, ring formation, new stereocenters andmodulation of parameters useful in medicinal chemistry
