The Kantian Critique of Psychoanalysis in Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari's Anti-Oedipus

To try to give an answer to the question whether Anti-Oedipus is a critique of psychoanalysis, it is necessary to treat it from both a formal and material point of view. The former concerns the way, the how of the critique. What kind of critique are we dealing with? The latter, to the object or matter, the what of the critique. What is it criticized eventually? Both things, however, are closely related: one type of critique implies a certain object. From the formal point of view, we will show how Anti-Oedipus is opportunely a delimitation, an evaluation and a divergence. We will discover that, in each case, what is criticized is not the same. Thus, the formal interrogation about the mechanisms of critique will be completed through a material research of the object of the latter.
