People´s perceptions on the construction of collective goals: Interviews in street demonstrations of protest

The article delves into the opinions and beliefs of participants of street protest demonstrations regarding the impact of corruption on Argentine democracy and economic development. In second place, it discusses methodological issues related to the validity and reliability of both the construction of the instrument, the fieldwork experience and the data analysis. Data comes from 196 survey interviews with open-ended questions conducted among participants of demonstrations and popular assemblies that took place in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires during April/May of 2002. The paper draws on the cognitive and emotional elements present in the respondents discourses.
