Resumen:
Here we present a 20-year-old patient with testicular tumor and painful pulmonary metastases that was admitted to the hospital to orchiectomy and currentprotocol of chemotherapy. The severity of chest pain underwent by the patient was evaluated using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) and qualified as severe mixedpain by the MD-palliative care specialist. The performance and quality of life of patient was evaluated using Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) score andEuro Quo-5D (EQ-5D) questionnaire. After an unsuccessful Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) treatment, patient started by own decision the sequentialconsumption of two cannabis oils that differs in the CBD concentrations. Using NRS, oil with low CBD concentration had not any effect, while CBD-enriched oil had anefficient pain control. In turn, the oil enriched with CBD, contributed to alleviate the side effect of chemotherapy and to improve the quality of life of the patient. Togetherthese data suggests that CBD-enriched oil helped in the pain control and improving the life quality of the patient measured by EQ-5D questionnaire. We suggest that acontrolled administration of CBD-enriched oil during the palliative care in oncologic patients, can help to pain control and increase the life quality.
