Resumen:
The metacarbonate units of the La Huerta Range represent a heterogeneous sequence of layered impure dolomite, calcite marbles respectively, of 10 to 70 metres thickness. High grade metamorphosed granulite-gneisses, migmatites and amphibolites represent the metamorphic basement which accommodates the marble units. They represent a polymetamorphic terrain affected by an earlier amphibolite facies metamorphism (Greenvillian) and a latter granulite facies event (Ordovician).
