The Upper Mantle beneath Patagonia: a LAM-ICP-MS study.

Upper mantle xenoliths from Pliocene to Quaternary alkali basalts of southern Argentina have been analysed for their mineral trace element contents using Laser Ablation Microprobe (LAM)-ICP-MS technique. The samples selected for this study come from the localities of Comallo (Co), Laguna Fria (LF), and Traful (Tr), province of Rio Negro in the north, and Tres Lagos (TL), Governador Gregores (GG) and Pali Aike (PA), province of Santa Cruz in the south. All the investigated xenoliths are spinel lherzolites and harzburgites, except for one garnet lherzolite from PA.
