Resumen:
Upper mantle xenoliths in Pliocene to Quaternary alkali basalts in the Rio Negro (41 S) and Santa Cruz (52 S) provinces are dominated by spinel harzburgites followed by spinel lherzolites and wehrlites. Garnet harzburgites and lherzolites are additionally present only in southernmost Patagonia (Pali Aike). The dominant texture is porphyroclastic followed by epgrarmlar (both tabular and mosaic).
