A Simple Physical Representation for Saccadic Eye Movement Data

In this paper we employ a driven harmonic oscillator to satisfactorilydescribe data corresponding to ocular movements producedduring a visual search task. The data is acquired with an EyeLink 1000.We describe the details of the oscillations in the eye?s rotation angles inbetween 4 and 40º observed before and after the saccadic and microsaccadicmoments. We perform an analysis of the efficiency in the use of theenergy of the associated harmonic oscillator.
