Resumen:
The registration of the eye movements is turning into a common technique in games, business, marketing, science, etc. The evolution of the camera technology has given a great momentum allowing the application of the technique in diverse scenarios. In this contribution we perform a careful discussion about the information obtained when eye-tracking a person. We will show that the dynamic of the eye-ball and crystalline lenses is registered when using camera with high enough time resolution to perform analysis over the results. A simple model consisting in a damped harmonic oscillator for the dynamic is presented, designed to better understand the dynamics of eye movements. Parameters as the damping of the system and the elasticity of the eye muscles are determined. On the other hand, using different paradigms, it is possible to explore the memory of a person and also detecting attention problems. In this contribution we explore different strategies used to explore attention and we discuss how eye-tracking can substantially improve the way of measuring it.
