In this paper we give conditions which permit to estimate the Hausdorff measure Hs(K) of a self similar s-set K: K = UFi (K), Fi contractions. In particular, we treat the case when K is of bounded distortion. An algorithm, analogous to one given in [P2], is exhibited which permits in a practical way to estimate Hs(K). We show that this algorithm can also be applied in the case when K is graph-directed. Finally, we give an example where Hs(K) is estimated for K a graph-directed set of Sierpinski type.
