This paper details a project we are undertaking in search of stellar streams and satellite remnants of dwarf galaxies in the process of merging with the Milky Way galaxy. We base our analysis on data from the Vista Variables in the <!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } -->  V <!-- @page { margin: ía Láctea Survey for which we create a filter sensitive to old metal poor stellar populations and then in our filtered stellar distribution search for local over-densities for followup study.
