Resumen:
In Foucault´s thought, the issue of the image and the imaginary has been thoroughly studied in relation to the representative scene in Les mots et les choses, as well as in connection to literature and its procedures in the novels by Roussel and Blanchot. In this paper, notwithstanding, we will focus on a series of questions Foucault raises (in texts on Manet´s painting, Fromanger´s photogenic painting and Byzantios? drawings) about the imaginary as medium in which a (non-necessarily human) experience takes place. According to this, we will look for the reasons that allow the French thinker to recover images? rebellion given that it would be possible to ascribe them a sensible and seducing spatiality whose sense might break up with their frivolous utilization in the media (where art?s "pure" discourse confined them). Secondly, we will underline the inhuman (and thus rebel) nature of such image spaces connecting foucauldian analysis and Roger Caillois´ exam of animal mimesis and the explanation he proposes for this phenomenon: space fascination.
