Resumen:
In the last decades, bovine genetic markers have been applied to resolve severaltheoretical and practical questions, such as parentage analysis, paternal and maternallinage determination, genetic disease detection and genomic selection. Herein, we reportthe development of a medium-density SNP Axiom array, named ArBos 1, and its utility inbovine production. This array includes 58.088 SNPs, covering the 29 autosomal andsexual chromosomes, as well as, the mitochondrial DNA. These SNPs were selected fromcommercial HD bovine microarrays and form public database, using LD, positional andfunctional criteria. In this sense, the ArBos1 include SNPs for parentage analysis, thedetection of genetic disease, quantitative and qualitative traits, and uniparental lineages.DNAs form 384 bovines belonging to eight Taurine, Zebu and composite breeds weregenotyping. The obtained results showed an average call rate of 99.25 with 91.72% ofhigh resolution polymorphic SNPs, and an average heterozygosity of 37 ± 3.92. Linkagedisequilibrium analysis evidence a total of 2.598 LD blocks, including between two andforty SNPs. The development arrays could be used to solve in a unique genotyping assay.
