Resumen:
There is extensive scientific evidence about the relationship among depressive and anxiety disorders with different cognitive deficits on executive functions. The objective of this research was to study the relationship between anxiety and depression with executive functions in children from the general population. The sample was 226 schoolchildren from the fourth to seventh grade participated (M= 10.51, SD= 1.34). The gender distribution was 49.6% male, and 50.4% female. The schoolchildren were studying in three different schools from Mendoza, Argentina, two of the schools receive children from low socioeconomic level. The following instruments were used: The Revised Children Anxiety and Depression Scale (RCADS), FACES Differences Perception Test, Stroop Test, Digits forward and Digits backward from WISC test, Semantic and Phonological Verbal Fluency Task.
