Resumen:
The catalytic reduction of nitrate in water by H2 is a developing alternative. The most studied catalyst is the Pd-Cu over inorganic supports. In this work, the activity of Pd-Cu supported over a macroporous weak anionic exchange resin is evaluated. Two catalysts with 0.3%Pd-0.1%Cu and 2%Pd-0.5%Cu were prepared by different copper fixation procedures: controlled surface reaction and anionic exchange method. The conversion of 150 ppm N-NO3- was obtained considering nitrate concentration decrease and retention capacity over the support. The catalysts obtained by controlled surface reaction shows better activity and selectivity. A good interaction between palladium and copper is obtained with this preparation procedure, and is the reason of the better performance.
