Resumen:
In the last decade there have been many studies about the influence of exogenous factors upon crustaceans. Likewise It is well known that there is a close correlation between different kinds os stresses and the hepatopancreas structures. The aim of this work is to analyse the ultrastructure of hepatopancrea cells on Macrobrachium borellii, one of the most common prawn of Paraná Medio River. The observations clearly indicated that the hepatopancreas ultrastructure in M. borellii varies depending on the place from which animals are collected. So, in this particular case it can be stated that the hepatopancreas histology is a good tool for monitoring the impact of a stressed environments upon freshwater prawns or indicating a polluted area.
