Resumen:
Electrochemotherapy (ECT) is an excellent therapeutic strategy for tumors of any histology with very high objective response rates. However, acomplete response may be elusive for two main reasons: first, leaving tumoral tissue untreated can lead to a relapse, and second, new lesions can developclose to the treated area when healhty tissue surrounding the tumor was insufficiently treated. As ECT elicits painful contractions, it requires generalanaesthesia to be performed in vet patients. Cryosurgery is a treatment modality with very good local response for small lesions and can be perfomed with aminimum sedation, as it is not painful. For those reasons, we chose to treat relapses of ECT with Cryopsurgery. In this work, we treated 9 feline patients with squamous cell carcinoma that relapsed after ECT and performed cryosurgery. In all cases, a CR was obtained. In conclusion, cryosurgery is a treatmentmodality that can be combined with ECT for selected cases in which a complete response was not obtained in the first session.
