Resumen:
A case of a canine sebaceous gland carcinoma in a 4-year-old female cocker spaniel is described. The dog was presented with a large erithematousarea of 15 by 6.5 cm in the skin of the abdomen, containing multiple nodules and ulcers. Blood tests, clinical examination, 3-view chest radiographs andabdominal ultrasonography was performed, and no evidence of metastases was found. Histopathology of two 6 mm punch biopsies confirmed thediagnosis. The ECT procedure was performed under general anesthesia, with i.v. bleomycin at a dose of 15.000 IU/m2, using a 6-needle electrode, with adistance between needles of 4mm. Only 20% of the lesions were treated due to the large extension and spread of the disease, with the aim of repeating moresessions in the future. Surprisingly, after 6 weeks a partial response was observed even in the untreated areas, then, a complete response was observedwithin 12 weeks with a single ECT session. Fifteen months later, the patient remains free of disease, without lymph node involvement or metastasis.
