Resumen:
New estimates are derived for the overall properties of linear solids
with pointwise heterogeneous local properties. The derivation relies on
the use of `comparsion solids' which, unlike comparison solids
considered in previous derivations, are themselves pointwise
heterogeneous. The estimates are then exploited within an incremental
homogenization scheme to determine the overall response of multiphase
elasto-viscoplastic solids under arbitrary loading histories. Simple
constitutive relations for rigidly reinforced and porous solids are
provided and confronted with reference solutions. Improvements over
competing approaches are found for both types of material systems.
Comparison media with pointwise heterogeneity turn out to be crucial in
obtaining such improvements.
