The archaeological investigations carried out in 22 archaeological sites and in 4 lithicquarries and the study of their cultural materials have allowed the generation of a corpus ofinformation that contributes substantially to the knowledge of the antiquity of the humansettlement and the way of life of the hunter-gatherer groups of the south-central coast ofChubut (Argentina). The results indicate human occupations between at least 5000 years BPand 600 years BP, as well as the reoccupation of the coastal sectors close to the banks ofmollusks and colonies of sea lions. Different types of sites were identified, some stratifiedand others on the surface, which shows a diverse use of this space for hunting, fishing andgathering activities, food consumption, production of lithic and ceramic artifacts andmortuary practices, among others.
