In this paper horizontal rains in San Lorenzo forest (Province of Salta, Argentine) are studied. They are fogs formed by small drops that are registered by rain gauges. Anyway, they are very important resources to increase streamflow, soil moisture and groundwater recharge. Two methods to evaluate it are employed: (1) studies of interception by forest canopy; (2) recording horizontal rain with fog catchers installed at 3 different altitudes. The objective is to know the amount of additional water catched by the San Lorenzo Subtropical Forest and its importance to provide hydraulic resources during the arid period of the year.
