A new demonstration project about the air purifying pavement is performed in Sestao (Viscaya, Spain). The sidewalks in a street in Setao (Ametzaga Bide) are covered with the photocatalytic Ecogranic® stones produced by Pavimentos de Tudela. With the purpose of evaluating the effect of the Ecogranic® stones over the degradation of nitrogen compounds, an air quality monitoring was carried out in this street. In the present work, the air quality measurements in the Ametzaga Bide street are performed and analyzed in order to evaluate the photocaltaytic effect of pavement stones containing titanium dioxide (Ecogranic®) over the NOx reduction. This project was executed from the 23th of June until the 1st of July 2009 by Pavimentos de Tudela and with assistance of the University of Twente.
