Resumen:
Studies were made to characterize DNA present in C corpuscles that occur within MGG columnar cells. Corpuscles were isolated from gland homogenates and DNA was extracted and purified according to QIAmp tissue protocol, before being exposed to either DNAse I, or the enzymes Hae III, Bam HI, Hind III, and Eco RI. Incubation products were run in agarose gels, revealed with ethydium bromide, and the lanes fluorescence was scanned and quantified. Both DNAse I and HAE III extinguished DNA fluorescence, while the other enzymes reduced the area under the curve to 51- 62% of controls. No definite bands were formed, however. It is concluded that DNA extracted from C corpuscles is recognized as such by specific lytic enzymes. However, we were unable to obtain a band pattern that were useful for comparative purposes.
