Resumen:
The Parmeliaceae is a highly diverse family among the lichenized Ascomycota, both in terms of species number, with more than 2500 species distributed worldwide, and morphological and anatomical variation. It also has a complex taxonomy which dates back to the time of Acharius and has been studied by some of the most well-known lichenologists of the 20th century. During the 2014 Argentine Antarctic Survey, we identified some sterile specimens as ?C. subscutata? and these were used for mole- cular phylogenetic studies. The results con- firmed that the species belongs to Nephromopsis and is conspecific with N. chlorophyllal.
