Resumen:
We examine by performing 2D compressible MHD simulations, the capability of aCME scenario to drive a Moreton wave, considering the chromosphere and a stratified corona.We find that given a typical flux rope magnetic configuration, the larger the magnetic field andthe lighter (and hotter) the flux rope, the larger the amplitude and the speed of the chromo-spheric disturbance, which eventually becomes a Moreton wave. Analysing Mach number wefind that only fast magnetosonic shock waves would be able to produce Moreton events. Inthese cases an overexpansion of the flux rope is always present and it is the main responsible forthe Moreton generation. Finally, we show that this scenario could give account of the Moretonwave of the December 06, 2006 event.
