Resumen:
Using two different magnetic field configurations we present numerical simulations of Moreton events to distinguish between a flare-volume expansion model and the lateral expansion of a CME one, both capable of reproducing the characteristic features of a chromospheric simple shock wave. For each case considered we determine, the distance from the source region where the Moreton becomes visible, the corresponding time and distance required for the shock formation, and the variation of chromospheric perturbation features as a function of the source location in the active region.
