This paper addresses the determination of optimal operation and scheduling of a petrochemical complex through the formulation of a multiperiod MILP optimization problem in which time is uniformly discretized. Linear mathematical models have been derived for NGL and ethylene plants, based on rigorous existing models. Available yield data for chemical transformations and utilities consumption have been used to model the rest of the petrochemical complex.
