Determination of bidirectional electric anisotropy of muscles ex vivo using three electrode configurations

This paper presents the result of the Bidirectional Electric Anisotropy (BEA) in three excised bovine muscles using several geometry shapes of electrode, one bipolar and two tetrapolar. The plots show that the electrical anisotropy measure by bipolar electrodes has a higher variation due the polarization effects of electrode-electrolyte interface. The electrical Anisotropy variation is less than 8% using tetrapolar concentric axial electrodes.
