In the present contribution we use CeO2 and ZrO2 with very low content (1%w/w) as modifiers of commercial á-Al2O3. In this way, the outlined objective is evaluate the performance of systems Ni-CeO2-ZrO2-áAl2O3, characterize the materials, and determine the effect of the modification of the support. The dry reforming reaction of methane was used as a test to evaluate the catalytic behavior. The catalysts were characterized by Hydrogen Chemisorption, Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Diffuse Reflectance Infrared Fourier Transform Tpectroscopy (DRIFT), Temperature Programmed Reduction (TPR) and Temperature Programmed Oxidation (TPO). The results show that the modification with CeO2 improves notably the stability of the Ni catalysts and the NiCZA 0,8 composite presents excellent activity level, and a higher stability face to sintering and carbon deposition compared to NiCA, NiZA and NiA.
