In view of the large availability of palm oil mill wastes, the increasing need for low cost carbonaceous rawmaterials to prepare activated carbons for the removal of contaminants inwastewaters, it is the objectiveof this work to prepare and characterize  activated carbons from palm kernel shells and to test them in the removal of modelcolorants in water.
