Resumen:
The influence of operative parameters on the formation of solid products in methanol conversion to hydrocarbons over amorphous silica?alumina catalysts was studied. Temperature was changed in the 330?430°C range and W/F ratios covered up to 4.65 h. The solid compounds identified were methyl-substituted aromatics: 1,2,4,5-tetramethylbenzene, pentamethylbenzene and hexa-methylbenzene, the last two being the most important ones. Solid products normally represented around 30?40% of the total amount of aromatics formed. Essentially the same behaviour was observed on a zeolitic FCC catalyst
