Resumen:
In zoonosis (ZNS), the transmitting agent (vector) may be a virus, bacterium, parasite and even prions. Health organizations and scientific societies are concerned that ZNS produce a negative impact on the productive economy, animal and public health. Therefore, the World Health Organization (WHO) has among its main objectives to promote the design of new chemical entities (NCEs) that could be used to reduce or eliminate this problem. The objective of this work is to find NCEs active against different ZNS. In the rational search for the design and development (D&D) of NCEs, we selected resveratrol (RVOL) and aminoacids (AA) to obtain the starting chemical library. Structurally, the NCEs are rationalized as the association of two molecular fragments: Ar (RVOL) and different aminoacids (AA), giving the series of derivatives RVOL-AA. Both molecules are linked via an ester linkage which involves a phenolic hydroxyl and a carboxylic acid from AA.  In the first stage we obtained a new compound of RVOL with L-arginine. The new derivative was prepared following the methods of the conventional organic synthesis. The techniques for identification, purification and purity control were: thin layer chromatography, recrystallization, infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance. The pharmacological activity, toxicity and resistance of the NCE obtained to different etiological agents of ZNS will be evaluated.
