Resumen:
A preliminary petrological and
geochemical characterization of the
basic body of the San Francisco del Monte de Oro (San Luis Province) is made.
The presence of a basic complex affected by a dynamothermal metamorphism in alimandine
amphibolite facies is definied. Structural studies made demostrable
the existence of three deformation phases which affected the metabasites and the country rocks.
The geochemical study is based mi the determination of the total and extractable contents of a few minor
elements and ferrous iron, and the statistical evaluation of experimental data.
Mean values, variances, local and
regional threshold values, types of
distribution and functional associations
of said contents in
metabasites are given.
