Resumen:
The detection of congenital Chagas disease in the first hours after birth and subsequent monitoring of patients are critical for successful treatment in vulnerable populations. This scenario demands modern tools such as mobile POC assays. Here we present smartphone-based reading and data management for a recently developed ELISA test detecting a specific IgM. An Android app was programmed for different tasks, notably image processing and integration to server, database, and patient surveillance systems. At the present phase, results obtained with real samples demonstrates that our method is satisfactory, as compared against the spectrophotometric gold-standard.
