Summary: Aeropalynologic characteristics of the atmosphere of the city of La Plata. Their relation with respiratory allergies. The pollen content of the atmosphere of La Plata city (35ºS, 58ºW) was obtained during July 98 - June 99 using a Lanzoni volumetric sampler. The higher pollen concentrations registered until a 1% of representation was contributed by 12 main taxa Platanus sp., Fraxinus sp., Poaceae, Cupressus sp., Urticaceae, Cyperaceae, Myrtaceae, Acer sp., Ambrosia sp., Celtis sp., Casuarina sp. and Morus sp. that add the 95.18% of the total pollen concentration emitted to the atmosphere. The remaining 4.82% is related to the presence of taxon group characterized as those less represented like Pinus sp., Cheno-Amaranthaceae, Plantago sp., Artemisia sp., Quercus sp., Populus sp., Castanea sp., Salix sp., Ricinus sp. and Schinus sp. contributed until a 0.10% to the total pollen concentration. These data were contrasted with those of the data base starting from patients with sensibility and/or breathing allergic affections to pollen during the same period.
