Resumen:
The tree pollen count in the atmosphere of Bahía Blanca, Argentina (38º44´S; 62º16´W) was carried out from 1996 to 1998 and 2000 to 2001. Daily data were obtained using a volumetric impact sampler Rotorod model 40 situated at height of 10 m above ground level on a building situated in the north of the city in the first period and in the center in the second period. First data analysis revealed a high atmospherical incidence of the following types: Eucalyptus, Cupressus, Fraxinus, Pinus, Ulmus, Morus alba, Olea europaea, Platanus hispanica. The principal pollination period (P.P.P.) for these pollen type was centered on the month of July and January, with an average duration of 67 days for Cupressus, 49 for Ulmus, 31 for Pinus, 29 for Eucalyptus, 26 for Platanus, 23 for Fraxinus, 21 for Olea europaea and 21 for Morus alba. These pollen types represent the 74 % of the total pollen count in the studied period. The meteorological data and the main pollen season were also analyzed. The other types are included in Other trees and Non-trees categories.
