Resumen:
At the time of diagnosis (T0), patients with Tuberculosis (TB) show a significantly increase of circulating pro-inflammatory mediators and Cortisol/DHEA ratio associated with disease severity. Hence, we have now analyzed the immune-endocrine parameters modifications during the anti-tuberculous treatment attempting to ascertain their utility as biomarkers. Blood samples were collected from 16 healthy controls (HCo) and 14 age- and sex-matched TB ?HIV negative- patients at T0 as well as at 2 (T2), 4 (T4) and 6 months (T6) of treatment initiation and 3 months post treatment.
