Analysis and measurement of a slotted square microstrip antenna

In this paper, we introduce and study a squaremicrostrip antenna with an eccentric slot. It is analyzedusing the theory of cavity model for microstrip antennasand the Boundary Element Method (BEM). The simulatedresults show that the resonance frequency of the proposedantenna is lower than the conventional square antenna. Inaddition, a 50ohm  input impedance is found placing properlythe slot. Computer simulation results are compared withexperimental data.
