Resumen:
We propose to design jointly the waveform andtrajectory of a radar mounted on a moving platform, in orderto improve the system performance for tracking maneuveringtargets. Inspired by bats, we develop an adaptive algorithm thatchooses the optimal pulse repetition interval (PRI) and pathof the radar. Our method automatically schedules a low PRIwhen it recognizes that the target executes a maneuvering action.Simultaneously, it selects the radar trajectory which providesthe best estimation of the target parameters. We derive ourapproach under a framework of sequential Bayesian filtering andimplement it with a particle filter. We consider a library of targetstate models associated with different PRI values and use multiplemodel to schedule the optimal PRI. We apply the posteriorCram´er-Rao bound to measure the system performance anddecide on the optimal radar path.We demonstrate the advantagesof the adaptive radar scheme using numerical examples.
