PLASMINOGEN ACTIVATORS IN PIG OVIDUCT DURING THE ESTROUS CYCLE M. Roldán. M. Jiménez Díaz, S. Pereyra-Alfonso*, V. Sánchez*, V. Flores * and D. Miceli. Dep. Medicina (UBA).   Several observations report the presence of PAs in mal e and fe- mal e gametes of rat and mouse and suggest that the sistem PA/ Plasmin might participate in the fertilization. In previous studies we demonstrated the presence of plasminogen in the oocyte and proteolytic activity in hamster oviduct regulated by hormones. The aim of this work was study the presence of PAs in the pig oviduct and to determinate if there are differences between the states of the estrous cycle. Determination of PA activities were performed in Triton X-l 00 treated tissue crude membrane fraction (CMF) and oviducal secretion of immature sows and females in different states of the cycle. Different PA activities between ampulla and itsmus portions during the cycle were observed. This results suggest that might exist synthesis of PA principally in estrus. The activity in the secretion fluid increases in proestrus and metestrus and decreases in estrus and diestrus. In the immature sows the PA activity detected in ampulla and itsmus was similar and higher than in the fluid. In the adults probably the PA activity should be related to the reproduction function. On the other hand, in the immature sows the PA activity could be associated with the own organ development and differentiation instead of the cellular mechanism involved in reproduction function.
